The Rape Victim

The Rape Victim

We don’t just offer our services to the sick and injured and so every so often we get calls for individuals who are in life threating situations. Tis mission was to help a college student who was almost raped in her boarding house. Due to the Covid 19 travel restrictions she wasn’t able to get a flight home without our help. Only one challenge, her family doesn’t have the means to help with the fuel cost to take her home. At the time when the request came in, I was being featured by China Global Television Network and so they got to see first-hand how I often would go beyond the call of duty to help others in need.

God touched the heart of the journalist

We spent much time recording various interviews seeing the weather was bad for a few days and no calls came in. When I opted to post on my Facebook page asking $400USD to buy fuel to help her get home, God touched the heart of the journalist to give my first portion towards the goal. I posted the short story asking for help Sabbath Morning, we went to church and by the time I came home we had gotten way more than what we needed. What happened was we lost electricity and so I had no way to stop the excess from coming in. After the electricity came back, we had $1,000USD. I opted to return the excess but the donors asked me to use it for other missions in the future.

Capt Davin I cried when I saw the airplane landed on our island

Another request came in for a returning patient who was from the same island. So I had another amazing opportunity to help two families instead of one. God kept us safe for the entire flight but when I was on short final to land I could not see the island or the runway. I had enough fuel to return to my origin but I prayed and asked the Lord to open up a way to get them home. The patient onboard along with the student had challenges with housing and food while they were away from home. I remember I was told that the student found refuge from a SDA family who housed her until the flight was scheduled.  So there I was, 10 mins away from landing and the rain was pouring, I had no visual to land. I descended to 500 feet and trusted my instruments to guide me in, I said Lord if I don’t have visual on that runway by the time I reach the coastline I will have to divert or hold for 20 mins max. 1/4mile on the approach I saw the island, the runway lights, and then the runway. I put that airplane down with tears in my eyes, knowing that God came through for us one more time.

After that I was stranded for about 1.5hrs due to weather. When I got home I got a photo from a family member who recorded the landing, she said “I cried when I saw the airplane safely on the ground, knowing who was onboard.”

Capt Davin Our daughter is our gift this Christmas, thank you

I was impressed to giver her $200 which was from the extra donations that came in to help her get home, it was timely because she needed to do 14days quarantine at her own expense before she can go home to her family. After the 14days was over, her mother sent me a video where they hid her in a box and told her father he has a package from the other island, when he opened it was his daughter. She leaped in his arms, tears running down his face. “Capt Davin, our daughter is our Christmas gift this year, thank you.”
